What is Eorzea Dream Festival (EDF)?

EDF is a community-driven music festival in Final Fantasy XIV, created by DJs and partygoers alike. It blends in-game locations with Twitch streams to bring players together through music, offering something for everyone to enjoy. While not affiliated with Square Enix or any in-game venues, EDF is an independent celebration — by the community, for the community — centered on connection, joy, and the power of music.

When is the next event?

Thank you for joining us for EDF XIV! We have been doing this non-stop since February of 2021. We started smaller, 13 DJs and 34 hours. Since then, with your help and enthusiasm we have grown to 50 DJs and 50 hours of non-stop music! EDF XIV was special. We invited back some of the first EDF DJs, we added on site sketch artists and we closed with a macro dance performance. This EDF will go down in the books for sure!With all that said, we are going to mix things up a bit. Our next EDF should have been in November, but we are going to give our staff and volunteers a break for the holidays. They always work so unbelievably hard. We hope you all understand and enjoy the time off to get even more hype about the next one! You never know what we could have coming up for EDF XV...EDF XV will be held March // 13-15 // 2026 ... On a new DC: Oceania Server: Ravana - The choice to leave crystal after all of these years was a hard one.     EDF SELECTION PROCESS

    BACKGROUND

    • EDF has grown in popularity from less than 20 applicants to over 100. With only 50 spots, there had to be a method other than allowing DJ's to haphazardly sign-up. Additionally, there needed to be a way to determine which DJ's were A) interested in EDF consistently, and B) where they rest within that structure.

    SOLUTION

    • DJ's submit an application to EDF within the allotted window set by EDF staff.

    • The EDF Scheduler uses a numerical-based system. A numerical-value is assigned to a DJ when A) it's their first time applying to EDF or B) when returning DJ's apply to EDF but aren't selected to perform.

    • There is a database where a DJ's numerical-value is tracked for future EDFs. This allows DJ's to carry over their numerical-values assigned to them if they aren't selected to perform.

    NUMERICAL VALUES EXPLAINED

    • 1.5 - Applying to three EDF's. This is the max numerical-value a DJ can earn. A DJ with 1.5 must be placed within the current EDF.
    • 1 - Applying to two EDF's.
    • 0.5 - Applying to one EDF. Special Note: First time DJ's applying to EDF will be assigned this numerical-value.
    • 0 - The DJ performed in the previous EDF.
    • These numerical-values will be reset to zero once the DJ performs within EDF.
    • DJ's that are asked to fill a spot during an ACTIVE EDF will not have their numerical-values reset. Thank you for saving us!

    FAQ

    How do I sign up to perform?

    • Join the discord and contact a moderator for a DJ tag. All DJ's will be required to read and understand the rules prior to submitting an application. If approved, the DJ will be assigned an EDF DJ tag!

    I want to help, but I'm not a DJ.

    • Not an issue! We're always in need of volunteers, especially from within the player base and community! Contact a Moderator within the Discord if interested!
